Kate takes over the show as “Ellen” with the same outfit and everything!
No, you're not seeing double. There really were two versions of Ellen Degeneres hosting her self-named show on Wednesday.
"Saturday Night Live" actress Kate McKinnon, 29, brought her lauded Ellen impersonation to the source, serving up a spoof of DeGeneres alongside the real-life edition.
The mockery was clearly one that stemmed from admiration. McKinnon gushed about her longtime affection for DeGeneres, 55, "My mother has come up with schemes to try to meet up," the "SNL" star confessed. "I used to paint, I was an oil painter, and she would always say, 'If you would just paint a portrait of Ellen and send it to her, I'm sure that she would have you as a guest on the show. I don't know why you don't just paint a portrait.' I never did, and I don't know why. I guess it's because I was meant to appear in a different capacity on the show.""Saturday Night Live" actress Kate McKinnon, 29, brought her lauded Ellen impersonation to the source, serving up a spoof of DeGeneres alongside the real-life edition.
