Ellen DeGeneres: It's a Wonderful Day for Equality

She’s a prominent activist for marriage equality, and now Ellen DeGeneres shares her excitement for the United States Supreme Court ruling towards California’s Proposition 8.
Shortly after news broke regarding the major victory for gay rights, the talk show hostess took to the Twitterverse and shared her thoughts with her followers.

“It’s a supremely wonderful day for equality. Prop 8 is over and so is DOMA,” Ellen wrote. "Congratulations everyone. And I mean everyone.”
The 55-year-old married actress Portia de Rossi back in 2008, shortly after California's court found Prop 8 unconstitutional.
