Demi Lovato Receives Award at National Children's Mental Health Awareness Day Event

Though she's gearing up for the release of her self-titled album next week, Demi Lovato took time out of her busy schedule to attend a press briefing for the 8th annual National Children's Mental Health Awareness Day at the University of the District of Columbia Community College in Washington, D.C. on Tuesday (May 7).
The "Heart Attack" singer looked classy in a knee-length white dress and matching blazer as she sat onstage smiling.
Receiving an honor from U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services Kathleen Sebilius, the 20-year-old songstress tweeted, "Honored to receive an award from @Sebelius + appear w/5 brave ppl sharing their resilience stories: #HeroesofHope."
Earlier this week, Demi slowly unveiled each song off of her new record, asking fans to tweet the names of each song for it to be released. AFter the event, she tweeted, "So many incredible fans... Thank you SO much... I'm so thankful for each and every one of you. I love you all!!"
