Box Office: "Man of Steel" Uncatchable on Top
Movie-goers sent the newly-released action adventure "Man of
Steel" soaring to the top spot at the box office for the weekend of June
14-16, 2013.
The highly-anticipated adventures of Clark Kent/Superman starring Amy Adams and Henry Cavill grabbed an impressive three-day total of $125.1 million its freshman weekend in theaters.
Another newcomer to the cinema, the Seth Rogen comedy "This is the End," landed in the second spot with a respectable $20.5 million.
Rounding out the top five in earmarked earnings are Isla Fisher's caper "Now You See Me" ($10.3 million) in third, the previously dominant "Fast & Furious 6" ($9.4 million) in fourth, and last week's surprise top earner "The Purge" ($8.2 million) in fifth.
