Jessica Simpson, Magazine and Photo Agency Sued Over Photo
A Louisana couple is suing Jessica Simpson, along with a magazine and photo agency over a picture of the actress with their son.
According to a report in the New Orleans Times-Picayune on Friday (June 7), the infant’s father was in line with his teenage daughter, who wanted an autograph from the “Dukes of Hazzard” actress, when someone suggested that Ms. Simpson get a picture with his son.
At that point, the lawsuit claims, “At least one previously unseen photographer hurriedly moved to the front of the line and began taking pictures of the child. The photographer did not identify himself or ask Mr. Hurt's permission to take or disseminate any photographs of Christopher."
The child’s photo appeared on the cover of the April 16, 2012 issue of OK! magazine next to a feature on Jessica’s first few months of motherhood, in a way that appeared to insinuate that the child was her son.
Michael North, the attorney for the young boy’s parents wrote, "In the case of Christopher Hurst, OK! Magazine paid him nothing, despite clear intention to mislead some or all of the consuming public into believing the photograph on the cover of the subject issue was actually Simpson's first child."
The couple is seeking damages that appear to be no more than $75,000. No statement has been issued by Jessica’s camp, but stay linked to GossipCenter for all the latest.
